Through the late 1940’s to the late 1960’s, Les Bishop started building numerous private docks, seawalls, and cottages around Gananoque and the Thousand Islands. Les Bishop also took contracts from the Federal Government and built many government wharves. His son John Bishop would go on to found his own marine construction company.
In 1968, John Bishop founded Bishop Marine Construction and then Thousand Island Marine Construction Ltd. in 1972. Both the companies are still operating today in the Gananoque region. Andrew Bishop, a son of John Bishop, is representing the third generation of the Bishop family in the marine field. We have employees who have over 25 years of experience in the industry.
